Akkineni Nagarjuna's "Soggade Chinni Nayana" (SCN) has done much better business than Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Dictator" and Sharwanand's "Express Raja" at the US box office.
Red Heart Movies, which has acquired the theatrical rights of "Express Raja", released the movie in 72 cinema halls across North America and Canada. The film has become the biggest release for Sharwanand in these countries. The distributors held paid previews at several locations, and the movie received decent response everywhere and became the the biggest opener for the actor.
Tarani Paruchuri's USDotNetworks bagged the US distribution rights of 'Dictator' and released it in 65 screens. The distribution house held premiere shows in many screens on Wednesday night and the movie got good response and showed decent growth on Thursday. It set a new record with its first ticket sold for $5,555. But its business hit rock bottom on subsequent days.
"Dictator" led the race, collecting $62,029 at the US box office on Wednesday and Thurday, while "Express Raja" landed in the second place with collections of $45,963 on these days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Telugu film #Dictator - USA: Wed + Thu $ 62,029 [₹ 42.03 lacs]... #ExpressRaja - USA: Wed + Thu $ 45,963 [₹ 31.14 lacs]. @RentrakIndia (sic)"
Blue Sky Cinemas has bought the distribution rights of "Soggade Chinni Nayana", and released the film in 80 screens across the US and Canada a day after "Dictator" and "Express Raja". The Nagarjuna-starrer opened to better response than the two other movies in premiere shows and on the first day.

The collection of "Express Raja" was slightly affected by "Soggade Chinni Nayana" on Friday, but the film managed to show good growth on Saturday. The movie collected $160,354 at the US box office in three days. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Telugu film #ExpressRaja biz witnesses growth on Fri in USA: Wed + Thu $ 46,125, Fri $ 43,761. Total: $ 89,886 [₹ 60.93 lacs]. @RentrakIndia (sic)"
"Soggade Chinni Nayana" showed good growth on Saturday and collected $327,326 at the US box office in two days. It will cross the $500,000 mark in its first weekend. Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted: "#SoggadeChinniNayana - 168k, #ExpressRaja - 70k - USA collections on Saturday so far. Encouraging! Nagarjuna is on a ride now. #SoggadeChinniNayana is expected to cross half million in USA"
