Civil servants to have two-year fixed tenure in a post

New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): The government has amended the rules to ensure that civil servants spend a minimum of two years at each posting. According to new rules aimed at checking political interference, any premature transfers or new appointments will only be done by a civil services board. The new rule governs Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS). The government has also set up a development board for nomadic tribes. Tripura, Feb 01 (ANI): Thousands thronged the Vivekananda Maidan stadium in to witness the 59th National School Football championship. The event was formally inaugurated by Tripura's chief minister Manik Sarkar. All together 30 teams participated in the tournament.It was organized by the School Games Federation of India in collaboration with the Tripura government. During the event, students from different schools presented spectacular cultural programmes. The tournament provided an opportunity to players from different states to share a common platform and strengthen the bonds of National Integration. The championship commenced with the inaugural match between Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. Punjab defeated Madhya Pradesh 1-0. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Awami League ended with more than two-thirds of seats in a contest that was shunned by international observers as flawed and derided as a farce by the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). With fewer than half the seats contested, the outcome was never in doubt. Talking to a reporter in Dhaka, Samad said the polls were first in the last 42 years which were not only low from voter's point of view but also from the candidates'.
