Encounter in J&K kills two LeT militants

Handwara, March 10 (ANI): Two Lashker-e-Toiba militants were killed an Army officer was injured in an encounter between the two sides in Handwara area of Kupwara district in Kashmir, police said. The encounter took place when security forces cordoned off a house in Malikpora village in Vilgam area of Handwara, 85 kms from here, following information about presence of militants there. The police officer said the militants opened firing on security forces, who retaliated, triggering off a fierce gun battle. Shipping minister urges PM to ensure release of fishermen from Sri Lanka

New Delhi, March 10 (ANI): Shipping Minister GK Vasan, on Monday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to make efforts for the release of fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan government for the success of talks between the two governments.
