Police hunt for gunman after elderly woman killed at monks retirement home in Montpellier

French police are hunting for an armed man following an attack at a home for retired missionaries in Montferrier-sur-Lez in the south of France. A caretaker managed to call the police around 10:30pm on 24 November after being attacked and tied up by an unknown man. When police arrived at the scene the body of a woman was found with stab wounds.The motive for the attack is as yet unknown but so far has not been linked to terrorism.
