Justice R M Lodha sworn in as the 41st Chief Justice of India

New Delhi, April 27 (ANI): Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha was on Sunday sworn in as the Chief Justice of India. He was administered the oath of office by President Pranab Mukherjee. He is the 41st chief justice of India. Chief Justice Lodha succeeds Chief Justice P Sathasivam who demitted office on completion of his term Saturday. Lodha will preside over the Supreme Court for five months as his term will come to an end Sep 27, 2014. Justice Lodha is the senior-most judge after Justice Sathasivam and is also heading a benching monitoring CBI's probe into the sensitive coal blocks allocation scam. Also noteworthy was his important judgement on regulating sale of acid to prevent attacks and awarding of compensation to acid attack victims. Apr 27, 2014

Coimbatore, April 27 (ANI): Enthusiasts thronged Coimbatore for ‘Aeroplus 2014’, which exhibited more than 20 varieties of aircrafts, choppers and their manoeuvre. The exhibition is being organised by Nehru College of Aeronautical Science and will continue for three days. Most of the aircrafts that were on display have been brought from Indian Air Force and other foreign countries. Additional Secretary, Tea Association of India, north Bengal branch, Sumit Ghosh, expressed his concern over the low production and the subsequent loss the industry would suffer. A tea trader from Siliguri, Ravi Agarwal, said that since the quality of tea is affected due to the lack of rainfall, tea trade, which flourishes in the month of May is likely to suffer a loss. The north Bengal plains along the Darjeeling hills produce the best quality of tea leaves in the world.
