Lawyer said that Pooja Singh (Accused) was produced before the Court and her bail was rejected and will be sent to police custody till July 31. Victory in Uttarakhand by-polls is great achievement: Congress

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): The Congress won all the three Assembly seats in Uttarakhand for which by-polls were held. The result coming against a BJP wave across the country took the ruling party's tally to 35 in the 70-member House, just one short of majority. Significantly, the result was also a vindication of the Congress central leadership's faith in chief minister Harish Rawat who was handed over the reins of the state in February. Rawat himself was among the three elected MLAs, winning from Dharchula by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate BD Joshi by 20,000 votes. One policeman killed, four injured in grenade attack in Sopore

Sopore, July 26 (ANI): One policeman was killed and four others were injured in a grenade attack by militants in the wee hours on Saturday in Sopore town of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), North Kashmir Ghulam Hassan said that few militants who were among the stone pelters launched a grenade attack followed by a gun battle in which one of our security personnel Mohammed Sayeed died and four other policemen got injured.
