Opposing communal violence bill will be against people's wishes: Salman Khurshid.

New Delhi, Dec 4 (ANI): Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid has backed the amended Communal Violence Bill and said that any party opposing it will be going against people's wishes. While addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Khurshid stated that the bill was for the benefit of the citizens. The Communal Violence Bill which was redrafted by National Advisory Council headed by Sonia Gandhi, after strong opposition from several parties will be tabled in the winter session of the parliament, starting Thursday. Delhi goes to polls amidst tight security

New Delhi, Dec 04 (ANI): National capital Delhi went to polls early on Wednesday morning amidst tight security to prevent any untoward incident. Over 1.19 crore voters will exercise their right to vote to elect candidates to the 70-member Delhi State Assembly. Over four lakh voters will cast their votes for the first time. In all, 810 candidates, including 70 females are in the fray. Voting began at 8 a.m. this morning and will end at 5 p.m. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure free and fair polls. Intense vigil is being maintained to keep an eye on the misuse of money and muscle power in vulnerable areas, such as slum clusters and unauthorized colonies. Out of 11,753 polling booths, 630 have been declared sensitive. For the first time, webcasting has been introduced in all sensitive booths for live monitoring of proceedings. Dec 4, 2013

Asaram Bapu's son Narayan Sai arrested on charges of rape

New Delhi, Dec 04 (ANI): After a two-month search, Asaram Bapu's absconding son Narayan Sai, wanted in a rape case in Gujarat, has been arrested on Wednesday. He was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi police at the Delhi- Haryana border, while trying to escape disguised as a Sikh man. The 41-year-old is being questioned in Delhi.
