Bridge collapse kills three in Himachal Pradesh

Hamirpur, Aug 14 (ANI): Three people were killed on Thursday after a bridge collapsed in Jahu area of Hamirpur disrict in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall. Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhoranj Balwan Chand said rescue teams were working and one body was pulled out from the river. The Disaster Response Force teams reached the accident site and began relief work. Search for more bodies is underway. Aug 14, 2014

VHP protest outside Pakistan embassy over hardships faced by Hindus in Pak

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday staged a protest outside Pakistan embassy in New Delhi against the hardships faced by the Hindu community in the neighbouring country. Leaders of VHP claimed that Hindu community living in Pakistan was being treated inhumanly and demanded protection of human rights violations. Protesters shouted anti-Pakistan slogans and demanded justice for the Hindus living there. Protesters were accompanied by the Hindus who have fled from Pakistan after facing the torture from the natives there. Bangladesh academician remembers Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ahead of his death anniversary

Dhaka, Aug 14 (ANI): Bangladesh academician, Syed Anwar Husain remembered founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, for his significant contribution in the country’s fight for an independent state, as the nation mourns his assassination during an army coup in 1975. Mujibur, or Mujib as he was popularly called, was killed along with most of his family members in a 1975 revolt by young army officers. One of his two surviving daughters, Sheikh Hasina, is now the country's prime minister. The city streets are full of posters and banners bearing Rahman’s photographs. New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Speakers of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Thursday adjourned the respective houses sine die. The budget session which ran for more than a month was adjourned sine die after the announcement by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari. Hearing of E-Rickshaw case adjourned till Aug 20

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the case of e-rickshaw till Aug 20 which was to be heard today. Lawyer RK Kapoor said that the case was adjourned observing the absence of a judge who was present during the previous hearings of the case.
