The Government of Jammu-Kashmir has launched many schemes to eliminate unemployment. In this regard an employment fair was organized in Reasi recently. Other side Pahalgam is a world famous tourist destination in Anantnag district. But tourism players of Pahalgam are unhappy as the Govt. has failed to promote it as a winter tourist destination, and very few tourists visit it during winters. Beyond this the construction of the new mini secretariat in Poonch district had made the locals happy as they felt that it would solve most of their administrative problems. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is hosting the 2013-2014 Ranji matches that are being played between the host team and the team of Goa. The Ranji Match is being played in valley after a long time as the only stadium in valley was under renovation. Other side, the delay in construction of Kandi irrigation canal in district Doda irks the farmers who are living around this canal. Locals allege that the construction agency is using sub standard material in constructing this canal. Beyond this, the saffron growth this year is grim due to lack of rainfall at proper time. Women rights activists slam Somnath Bharti, demand resignation

New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): Women rights activists on Wednesday slammed Delhi Law Minister and AAP member Somnath Bharti for his midnight raid at the house of a Ugandan woman. President of Women Congress Shobha Oza on Wednesday demanded proper investigation against Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and his followers. National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Mamta Sharma also said that they will take up this issue after the report from the State Commission is out.
