Air India website crashes as it offers 'tickets for Rs 100'

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Soon after Air India announced an astonishing Rs 100 fare offer to celebrate Air India Day, the national carrier's website, where tickets were being sold exclusively, crashed. Some users who tried to go to the website got a 'Service unavailable' message. For others, the page would not load. Air India had announced that it will sell tickets for Rs 100 (taxes extra) for five days from Wednesday — which it will celebrate as Air India Day to commemorate the merger of erstwhile Indian Airlines and Air India in 2007. PM Modi to launch 'Jan Dhan Yojna' today

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally launch the 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana ' across the nation on Thursday, under which the government would provide every household with a bank account and an insurance cover. The scheme, to be launched across the country simultaneously, will benefit every household. Each account holder will be provided with a 'RuPay' debit card and Rs 1 lakh accident cover. Woman claims of holding leopard by its ears before killing it

Srinagar, Aug 28 (ANI): The woman, who killed a leopard with a sickle, said she held the animal with its ears and made it fall on the ground. Kamla Devi survived half an hour fight with the leopard when the animal attacked her at a village in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Devi fractured both her hands and sustained scratches and swellings, was critical and getting treated at Srinagar base hospital. Devi’s skull received 50 stitches. Case registered against Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda's son, politicos demand thorough probe

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): A Bangalore based model has filed a case against Karthik Gowda, son of Union Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda, under section 420, 376 and 406 (charges relating to cheating and dishonesty) of the Indian Penal Code. The model claims that she got married to Karthik Gowda on June 5, 2014 after meeting him on May 8, 2014. The model also said that she wanted his family to accept her as their daughter-in-law. Gowda, however, refuted the allegations saying that since the news came right after his son Karthik Gowda’s engagement, it raises suspicion. After flag meet, Pak again violates ceasefire

Kannada actress claims to be wife of Railway Minister Gowda's son, asks family to accept her

Bangalore, Aug 28 (ANI): A Kannada actress has claimed that she is married to Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik and demanded that the Minister's family accept her as their daughter-in-law. Talking to mediapersons in Bangalore, the woman named Maithreya said that she met Karthik while her family was looking for a groom and on 05 June 2014 they both tied the knot. Maithreya further claimed that they both knew each other since 8 May 2014 and became very good friends, following which Karthik married her. Meanwhile, a case of rape was registered against Karthik. Scorching heat wave sweeps through Uttar Pradesh

In Kanpur people said that they had never experienced such hot weather conditions in the month of August before. Irked by the irregular power supply, a resident Alok Srivastav said that lack of rains this year had lead to such extreme weather conditions.
