Handwara, March 10 (ANI): Two Lashker-e-Toiba militants were killed an Army officer was injured in an encounter between the two sides in Handwara area of Kupwara district in Kashmir, police said. The encounter took place when security forces cordoned off a house in Malikpora village in Vilgam area of Handwara, 85 kms from here, following information about presence of militants there. The police officer said the militants opened firing on security forces, who retaliated, triggering off a fierce gun battle. On the sidelines of the BIMSTEC summit, Manmohan Singh met PM Sheikh Hasina and conveyed to her that a pact on the Teesta water sharing was an intricate issue but one which India was in favour of signing. The Teesta River is said to be the lifeline of Sikkim, flowing for almost the entire length of the state.
