Pakistan halts cross-border trade, say Indian authorities

Poonch, Jan 22 (ANI): Indian authorities have said that their counterparts in Pakistan had suspended cross-border trade with New Delhi, by closing the border gates in disputed Kashmir region. Reportedly, the suspension was in retaliation to the arrest of a Pakistan truck driver, which was detained by the Indian security forces while allegedly trying to cross the border with 114 packets of brown sugar in Kaman post area of Kashmir on January 17. Earlier, on Monday (January 20) Indian authorities had said that the cross-border bus services were also halted by the Pakistani side. Jan 22, 2014

Sachin Tendulkar supports children cardiac awareness

Mumbai, Jan 22 (ANI): Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar supported a noble cause of cardiac awareness in children and donated Rs 10,00,000 to initiate preventive measures across India. A Mumbai-based Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children initiated the awareness drive for the prevention of cardiac diseases in infants and toddlers. Tendulkar said that he was moved by story of a girl who could not take necessary treatment due to lack of funds. In order to raise awareness about cardiac problems in children, a marathon will be held in Mumbai on February 09 from the iconic Siddhivinayak Temple in the city and will end at the hospital location. New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday called off the sit-in protest for inaction by the city's police force against an alleged sex trafficking case, the Congress took a dig at Kejriwal and held him responsible for creating chaos in the city. Kejriwal said that good governance cannot be sought in a vigilante manner. However, BJP leader Vijay Goel blamed both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi party for the disorder in the city saying that such practices were aimed at conspiring against BJP to fail in the general elections. Militant outfits forcibly recruit students in Manipur

Manipur, Jan 22 (ANI): 17-year-old Seram Romson and his friend Sukham Bidyashore have been missing since January 10. Both are students of Biramangol College in Imphal East district, and had gone to Moreh, near the Myanmar border, on a study tour along with other students. Sources said three students, including Romson and Bidyashore, had crossed the international border and were in Myanmar. One student, who returned from Myanmar, revealed that they had been kidnapped by members of the banned KCP outfit. The family members of the youths are in shock. Jan 22, 2014
