Italian marine case: Italian Ambassador & Special Envoy reach SC for trial

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Italian Ambassador to India, Daniele Mancini and Special Envoy of the Italian government, Staffan De Mistura arrived at the Supreme Court on Monday to attend the hearing of the case involving two Italian marines accused of killing fishermen off the Kerala coast. Rome harshly criticised an Indian decision to try the accused Italian marines under an anti-piracy and anti-terrorism act. Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, part of a military security team protecting a cargo ship off the coast of Kerala, say they thought the fishermen were pirates and fired shots to warn them off in February 2012. Bank unions hold 2-day nation-wide strike

New Delhi/ Bhopal, Feb 10 (ANI): Banking services across the country are paralyzed as staff of both public and private sector banks are taking part in the two-day nationwide strike from Monday called by the All India Bank Employees' Association under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) seeking immediate revision of their salaries. Banks including country's largest lender State Bank of India have informed customers in advance about the likely inconvenience they could face due to the strike. As many as 27 public sector banks, 18 private banks, eight foreign banks and 48 Regional Rural Banks across India have joined the strike call by the UBFU. Feb 10, 2014

Prashant Bhushan on President's speech in Parliament

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Reacting on President Pranab Mukherjee's veiled attack on the Aam Aadmi Party saying that Parliament is the Gangotri of democracy, party leader Prashant Bhushan said that AAP wants to pass the law respecting the constitution. Baloch people suspect more mass graves in Balochistan

London/ Quetta, Feb 10: These pictures reflect the growing anger and frustration among the Baloch community as they seek justice for genocide in their homeland. Recently, three mass graves were unearthed in Tutak area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan containing over 150 dead bodies, which were decomposed and beyond recognition. Locals believe they are the corpses of the missing Baloch, who were arrested and later unlawfully killed by Pakistani security agencies. Suspected Maoist blast kills two, injures eight CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Feb 10 (ANI): A landmine blast by suspected Maoists in Sukma village in Chhattisgarh killed two and injured eight CRPF personnel. Director General of Police, AN Upadhyay told media persons that a bomb exploded when the CRPF team was trying to investigate a suspicious location. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Raipur.
