The public health care centre at Akingam was set up with the aim to provide better health care facilities to residents of the area, but this goal has not been met, as the PHC lacks basic facilities like X-rays and USG. Jammu has been waiting for its first artificial lake for long. Since the foundation stone was laid in December 2009 for the 140 crore ambitious project, it has missed many of its deadlines.
