Controversy over Hindi wrong, unwarranted: Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, has said that the controversy over promotion of Hindi on social media platform was wrong and unwarranted. He said that was misquoted as it was just a routine circular to promote the language and not being imposed on the states. Rijiju addressed a news conference in New Delhi and said that the circular which is constantly being cited in media reports was issued on May 27 and was a reminder to an earlier circular issued on March 10th which said use of Hindi language should be promoted on social media. He added that it was not a compulsion on the states to use Hindi language to conduct their routine business. Jun 21, 2014
