He also said teachers should imbibe in students the values of tolerance, secularism and inclusiveness to make the world a safer and better place to live in. Munshiganj, Sept 05 (ANI): Women's wing of Bharatiya Kisan Union, a farmer's union, on Friday (September 05) protested in Munshiganj village of Uttar Pradesh, on being denied a meeting with Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi with whom they wanted to share their woes regarding scarcity of electricity and water for their fields. Munshiganj is located in the Raebarelli district of Uttar Pradesh, a constituency under the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Women in the area wanted to meet Sonia's son and scion of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, to discuss the prevailing problems of water and electricity. Protesters blamed the government for ignoring the needs of the farmers and entering into business with industrialists. New Delhi, Sept 05 (ANI): CBI director Ranjit Sinha, on Friday filed a case of perjury against a non-governmental organisation, Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL), for making false allegations against him. Petitioner Kamini Jaiswal, appearing for CPIL, filed two affidavits against Sinha over interference in the Aircel-Marxis deal, a branch spurting out of the investigation in the 2G spectrum allocation scam and coal block allocations. Lawyers hail SC's order to release undertrials languishing in jail for years

Chennai/New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Lawyers hailed the apex court orders to release undertrials who have served more than half of the maximum punishment they were charged with in jail. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered to free all such undertrials. The court directed all judicial officers to start visiting prisons from October 01 and file a report, within two months, on prisoners released by them. Meanwhile, former judge of Delhi High Court, Justice RS Sodhi, said the decision came after the intervention of executives in the matter. As per law, prisoners awaiting trial must be released once they have served half the maximum sentence they would receive if found guilty, but that law is rarely implemented. Sep 5, 2014
