MiG 21 crashes in J&K, Defence Minister express concern

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Indian Air Force fighter aircraft MiG 21 on Tuesday crashed in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in Kashmir, killing the pilot. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday expressed concern over the crash and gave condolences to the pilot who lost his life and his family. PM Narendra Modi meets with SAARC nation heads

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): A day after he took oath as the 15th prime minister of India, Narendra Modi held "courtesy meetings" with leaders of SAARC countries. Modi greeted Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who arrived first at the Hyderabad House where the two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Later in the day, Modi met Maldives President Abdulla Yameen, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam and Nepal PM Sushil Koirala. His most significant meeting was with Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif. The series of meetings will end with Modi receiving Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. Ravi Shankar Prasad takes charge as new Law Minister

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday took charge as new Law and justice minister. Like his predecessor Kapil Sibal, Prasad will also hold both communications and law and justice portfolios. Prasad took oath as part of Narendra Modi's cabinet on Monday along with 44 other ministers. Modi's swearing-in ceremony was attended by all SAARC nations among others. Arun Jaitley takes charge as Finance minister

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday assumed charge as Finance Minister in the Narendra Modi-led government. He will also take the additional charge of Defence.
