India celebrates World Space Week to mark the success of Mars mission

Kozhikode, Oct 12 (ANI): India celebrated World Space Week in Kozhikode district of Kerala to mark the success of its Mars mission, where many enthusiast school and college students attended the space exhibition organized by the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium. India's first mission to Mars had entered orbit on September 24, making it the first Asian nation to reach the Red Planet. The spacecraft, called Mangalyaan, was launched in November last year by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The World Space Week started on October 04 and concluded on October 10. Purulia, Oct 12 (ANI): In the backdrop of recent blast, Police detained a vehicle carrying explosives in Purulia district of West Bengal. This vehicle, a Tata Sumo, was going towards Barabazar from Boro area. Police recovered 1100 detonators and 2800 gelatine sticks from this car. Two men, identified as SK Sahabul and Rakesh Mudi have been arrested in this case. Reportedly, these men were going to deliver the explosives found in the car to a third person, Chandan Singh of Barabazar area. Purulia police is interrogating to find out if these huge quantities of explosives were being carried in connection to any Maoist or terrorist activity.
