Congress slams AAP over internal conflicts; AAP says efforts are on to resolve differences

New Delhi, June 8 (ANI): The Congress party questioned the stability of Aam Aadmi Party as rumours of a rift within the latter gained momentum, with members meeting in New Delhi to discuss the poll debacle, the deep differences among its senior members and the spate of resignations by prominent leaders tainting its reputation. The three-day Aam Aadmi Party national executive meet was chaired by party chief, Arvind Kejriwal, amid reports of infighting and a rift between party leaders, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav. Sisodia accused Yadav of disintegrating the party and targeting Kejriwal while Yadav claimed that the party was falling prey to a personality cult. Taking a jibe at this infighting, Congress leader, Arvinder Singh Lovely, said that AAP is a party of power hungry people with vested interests. Further, Congress General Secretary, Shakeel Ahmad, said that AAP is trapped in its own game. Mumbai metro set to roll on Sunday, state CM says arbitrary tariff hike not acceptable

Mumbai, June 07 (ANI): The much anticipated Mumbai metro will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan Sunday morning. This is India's first metro railway project implemented on a public-private partnership model by a consortium headed by RInfra since 2007, at a total cost of around Rs.4,300 crore. Accordingly, from Sunday the 11.4 km long Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar east-west corridor with 12 elevated stations en route will run from 5.30 a.m. till midnight at a speed of 80 kmph. Hardcore Maoists surrender in Odisha

Malaysian woman raped in Jaipur, one held

According to reports, the woman has told the police that the man took her to an isolated place where he gave her a spiked drink and allegedly raped her. One man has been detained. Illegal sand mining in Etawah adds to lawlessness in UP

Etawah, June 07 (ANI): Illegal sand mining has become a major issue in Uttar Pradesh. Villagers in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh complained that sand from a natural lake in the area was being mined and at least 150-200 tractors worth of sand was being carted away from the area. Villagers also said no one has complained yet because they believe it to be a government property and they do not know whether the mining is illegal.
