47 day fish trawling ban commences in Kerala coast

Kochi, June 15 (ANI): Kerala fisherman will have to temporarily put their fishing nets to rest, as the annual 47 days ban on fishing using motorised trawlers in Kerala began at midnight on Saturday. Most of the heavy motorised deep sea fish trawlers have come back and will now be anchored at their respective harbours during the 47-day long ban period that will be on till July 31. The annual ban is likely to drive up fish prices. Officials from fisheries department said the ban might be increased to 60 days if required. Jun 15, 2014

Congress leader's son shot dead in Amethi

Amethi, June 15 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Jang Bahadur Singh's son, Mahendra Pratap Singh was shot dead by unidentified men in Amethi giving the Congress constituency a jolt. Superintendent of Police (SP) Hira Lal said that the assailants in a Bolero fired on the windscreen and on the side of the Qualis car while it was travelling on the stretch between Raniganj road and Waris road. BJP leader's body found tied in car at Baheri-Nainital Highway

Baheri, June 15 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rakesh Kumar Rastogi who had gone missing on Friday evening, was found dead in his car on Baheri-Nainital Highway under mysterious circumstances. The body of Rastogi, the divisional vice-president of BJP's Nainital unit, was found tied with a nylon rope inside Santro car, leading to suspicion that he had been murdered and his body is sent for postmortem. PM Narendra Modi reaches Bhutan, receives Guard of Honour
