Ghulam Nabi azad credits success of Parliament session to opposition, not NDA govt

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): As the Parliament budget session ended Thursday, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad credited the success of the session to the opposition Congress and not the BJP-led NDA government. Azad said that the government did not do anything from their side and every proceeding and every bills introduced was from the previous UPA government. He said that even the budget presented by the NDA government was similar to the interim budget presented by the UPA government. New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the case of e-rickshaw till Aug 20 which was to be heard today. Lawyer RK Kapoor said that the case was adjourned observing the absence of a judge who was present during the previous hearings of the case. The Bill was passed unanimously by the Lok Sabha yesterday. The Bill was passed by a voice vote following a detailed discussion on the government_s proposal to scrap the existing collegium system for appointment of judges in higher courts. New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): A Delhi court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to Sher Singh Rana in 2001 bandit-turned-politician Phoolan Devi murder case. While delivering its judgement, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Rana. Public Prosecutor Manisha Sharma said that they demanded death sentence from the court as it was pre planned murder, but the court refrained from the same. Twin murders: Siblings found dead in Delhi_s Karawal Nagar

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): An 18-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were found murdered in their bedroom in north east Delhi_s Karawal Nagar on Thursday. The two used to stay with their aunt who discovered the bodies when she came in to the bedroom to wake them up for school. A PCR call was made around 6:30 AM. The siblings had injury marks from a sharp object around their necks. The girl_s limbs were also found tied. Police haven_t ruled out a case of sexual assault on the girl.
