BSE Sensex crosses 25,000 mark on back of positive FIIs

Mumbai, June 06 (ANI): The BSE Sensex on Friday jumped 160 points and crossed 25,000 points on the back of positive FIIs and other investors. The record high is attributed to the Narendra Modi led NDA government, as well as international trends favouring Indian market. Market Expert Sunil Shah said that the things will remain bright till the announcement of budget by the prime minister. Shah also said that the fluctuations will persist but won’t last long. Sumitra Mahajan elected new Lok Sabha speaker

New Delhi, June 6 (ANI): Sumitra Mahajan, an eight-time BJP Member of Parliament from Indore, has been unanimously elected the Speaker of the 16th Lok Sabha. Mahajan’s name was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and seconded by senior BJP leader LK Advani and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Opposition leaders, including the Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, M Thambidurai (AIADMK), Sudip Bandopadhyay (Trinamool Congress), Mulayam Singh Yadav (SP), Supriya Sule (NCP) and Mohammed Salip (CPI-M) are among the 19-proposers for Mahajan's name. Angry crowd sets bus on fire after it hits car and two-wheeler in Noida

Noida, June 06 (ANI): Violence erupted in Noida city in Uttar Pradesh after a speeding bus hit two-wheeler and a car, which provoked irate residents and they set the bus on fire. Fire tenders and police officials were rushed to the spot. No causalities have been reported yet. The police, at the accident site, said people ran after setting the bus on fire. Sikh clash in Amritsar saddening, Parliament should have paid tribute to 1984 victims: SAD

New Delhi, June 06 (ANI): The spokesperson of SAD, Prem Singh Chandumajra on Friday expressed grief over the Sikh clash in Amritsar between two groups which took place earlier in the day. Chandumajra stated that on the 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar, it is sad to again witness clashes within Sikhs and added that the offenders will be punished. Clashes break out in Golden Temple on 30th Anniversary of Operation Bluestar

Amritsar, June 06 (ANI): Violent clashes broke out in the premises of Golden Temple in Amritsar on Friday between members of SGPC and a Sikh radical group, injuring at least 12 people. Accoding to reports, some mediapersons were also assaulted and their cameras were broken too during the clashes. Violence erupted in Golden Temple after various groups protested Simranjit Singh Mann's attempt to give a speech from Rostrum of Akal Takht.
