Maharashtra BJP demands Ajit Pawar's resignation in irrigation scam, politicos react

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): The BJP in Maharashtra demanded the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, saying that the report of a panel that probed alleged corruption in the irrigation department when he headed it had confirmed most of the allegations raised by the opposition. The Madhav Chitale committee's findings on the alleged Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam have yet to be made public. Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat injured during emergency landing

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat was admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi after his chopper hit turbulence on Friday. He suffered a neck fracture and minor back injury because of the rough emergency landing. The Congress leader somehow escaped the deadly accident and is now stable but he would not be discharged right now. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in a statement that the plane must have collided with clouds due to turbulence and Rawat's belt was not tied so his head hit the roof. Fathers of Badaun rape and murder victims hope to get justice after CBI starts investigation

Budaun, June 14 (ANI): Father of one of the hanged teenage girls in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh said he is now hopeful of getting justice, after the CBI reached the northern state to investigate the case of the gang-rape and killings of two teenage girls. Two cousins aged 12 and 14, from a low-caste Dalit community, went missing from their village home in Budaun district when they went out to go to the toilet on the evening of May 27. The next morning, villagers found their bodies hanging from a mango tree. Drones to help trace missing bodies in Mandi river tragedy

Mandi, June 14 (ANI): As the massive search for missing students intensified in Himachal Pradesh, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to trace the bodies. 24 engineering students of a private engineering college of Hyderabad were swept away when the waters of river Beas suddenly spiked dangerously high following a release from the reservoir of 126 MW Larji hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh on June 08. An official of NDRF, Vairabha Nathan, said although the rescue teams are using UAV to locate the bodies, they are facing problems in GPS connectivity in the rugged topographical conditions.
