New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): The BJP on Wednesday said that said that the government is taking all possible measures to control inflation. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked on Monday by Rs 1.69 and Rs. 0.50 per litre respectively while onion prices have continued to surge upwards. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had called upon state governments to check hoarding, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met ministers and senior bureaucrats to discuss strategies to control inflation, which is at a five month high. Singapore Foreign Minister meets Indian PM to bolster bilateral ties

New Delhi, July 2 (ANI): Singapore's Foreign Minister, K Shanmugam, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday on the second day of his five-day visit to reaffirm mutual cooperation between the two Asian countries. Chennai building collapse death toll rises to 42, rescue efforts step-up

Chennai, July 2, (ANI): Death toll in the collapse of an under-construction building in Chennai has risen to 42 as rescue efforts have been stepped-up to locate the trapped from the rubble. Last week, the 11-storey under-construction building collapsed in Tamil Nadu. District Collector of Kanchipuram district, Bhaskar, said a total of 69 people were pulled out from the wreckage so far. Subramanian Swamy calls for proper investigation in Sunanda Pushkar's death

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Commenting on the allegations made in the Sunanda Pushkar's autopsy report case, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday reiterated that Pushkar was murdered and called for proper investigation in the case. Swamy said that Pushkar had told people that she will expose the corruption in IPL. He further said that it was strange that her husband and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was admitted in the AIIMS Hospital when the autopsy was about to be conducted on Pushkar's body. According to media reports, the head of the forensics department at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr. Sudhir Gupta, has said that he was pressurized to give a doctored report in Pushkar's death case. Gupta headed the team of experts who conducted the postmortem on Pushkar's body. Sunanda Pushkar's autopsy: Harsh Vardhan seeks report from AIIMS director

New Delhi, July 02 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has sought a report from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director over an AIIMS doctor's allegations that the autopsy in Sunanda Pushkar's death was submitted under pressure. Harsh Vardhan also told that the former forensics head Dr Sudhir Gupta, who has claimed that Pushkar's autopsy was made under pressure, had also given a presentation regarding his promotion, soon after he assumed charge as the Union Health Minister. Sunanda Pushkar, was found dead in her hotel room in Leela Palace in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri on January 17. Prior to her death, Pushkar had been involved in a Twitter scandal allegedly involving her husband Shashi Tharoor and a Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar. Jul 2, 2014
