Politicos react as SC gives 5 weeks' time for govt formation in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 06 (ANI): Politicos gave their mixed reactions after the Supreme Court gave a deadline of 5 weeks to the Centre to find a solution about forming a government in Delhi. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that BJP is scared of going for polls that is why it has been avoiding the situation. NCP leader Tariq Anwar stated that SC gave a good decision because Delhi needs a government. SP's Naresh Agarwal said that BJP should take a decision. Three militants surrender in Assam

Barpeta, Aug 6 (ANI): Three militants of a separatist group, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), surrendered in Assam. The militants also handed over a cache of arms and ammunition to the police and paramilitary, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Deputy Superintendent of Police of Barpeta Police Station, B C Nath said one AK-56 rifle, one magazine, 17 rounds of ammunition, one 7.6mm pistol and two Chinese grenades were surrendered by the militants. The militants have been identified as Rajani Brahma, Sanjib Basumatari and B. Brahma. Nath informed the police were keeping a tight vigil ahead of Independence Day on August 15. Aug 6, 2014

Impasse over Insurance Bill continues

New Delhi, Aug 06 (ANI): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) lent its support to the insurance bill, as the other opposition parties oppose it. An all-party meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday has been scrapped. The deadlock between the government and the opposition parties on the Insurance Bill remains intact. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that the party is supporting the bill as it is a good thing. However, CPI leader D Raja, opposed the bill. SP leader Naresh Agarwal, said that the stand of both parties on the bill is not clear. Mallikarjun Kharge, said that the party will take the decision after it is passed in the upper house of the parliament.
