Clash between two Maoist factions claims one life in Jharkhand

Latehar, Aug 17 (ANI): One person was killed as members of two Maoists factions exchanged fire for over three hours in Churiyan village of Jharkhand. As the clash continued till the wee hours on Saturday, panic-stricken villagers locked themselves up in their homes until the fight stopped. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Roshan Gudia, said investigation in the case has begun and they have already identified the two groups. Floods in Assam disrupt boat service, wildlife intimidated

Nagaon, Aug 17 (ANI): Incessant rains have worsened the flood situation in Assam as the flood water has submerged around 50 percent of lower areas of the Kaziranga National Park in Nagaon district of the state. Fearing danger for the forest animals that they might get onto the National Highway (NH) if water level rises in the greens, Assam Environment and Forest Minister Rakibul Hussain launched 'Time Card' for vehicles plying from one end to the other of the park on NH 37. Fresh landslides in Uttarakhand trigger havoc, snap connectivity

Uttarkashi, Aug 17 (ANI): Fresh landslides, triggered by heavy rains, blocked connecting roads in Uttarkashi city of Uttarakhand on Sunday. Several villages have been cut-off and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel have been sent to the area for rescue and relief operations.
