SAD stage protest against RSS's 'Hindu nation' remark

New Delhi, Sept 06 (ANI): Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday protested against RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's remark last month that India is a Hindu nation. The slogan-shouting and banner holding SAD members demonstrated at the office of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in New Delhi that is the parent body of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Politicos react as BJP says it's ready for elections in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): Commenting on the possibility of BJP forming a government in Delhi, BJP Delhi President Satish Upadhyay on Saturday said that the BJP is ready for fresh elections even if they are held tomorrow. He said that the people of Delhi will vote for the BJP in the same way that they did during Lok Sabha elections. The Congress and other parties had accused BJP for running away from the elections after Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung had appealed to the President to give permission to invite the single largest part to form its government. Manish Tewari said that if BJP is ready for the elections then the Governor should recommend the Election Commission that election in Delhi should take place with the rest of the states. NCP Leader, Majid Memon, commenting on the Delhi's political scenario said that since no party can prove its majority until and unless horse trading takes place, hence the best option would be that Delhi goes for polls all over again. Rajnath Singh conducts aerial survey of flood affected areas in JandK

Onboard/ Jammu, Sept 06 (ANI): Amid the massive disaster created by floods and downpour in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday took an aerial survey of flood affected areas in the state. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh accompanied Singh. In Jammu, the authorities closed four bridges connecting two parts of the city after they suffered damage as River Tawi flowed above the danger mark. Authorities had also declared a disaster alert after two days of heavy rain hit villages across the state, causing the worst flooding in two decades. Meanwhile, a flood-affected resident of Jammu said all the belongings in his house have been washed away by the flood water and they were asked by the authorities to evacuate the place. Sep 6, 2014

Hilary Duff claims leaked nude snaps are 'fake'

New Delhi, September 6 (ANI): Hilary Duff has claimed that the naked pictures of her which were leaked online were all fraud. The rep for the 26-year-old actress confirmed that the snaps were fake from neck down as they didn't have the star's birthmarks or tattoos, and they had contacted the FBI to take action and catch the hacker, a leading daily reported. The news comes after nude photos of more than 100 celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton, both of whom had confirmed the pictures to be of them, were leaked online. Sep 6, 2014

Train halts in Kashmir due to landslide, heavy rains

Udhampur, Sep 06 (ANI): A train bound to Katra in Jammu and Kashmir was halted after landslides and heavy rains caused the tracks to clog. New Delhi to Katra bound 'Shri Shakti Express' train was forced to halt at the Ramnagar railway station in Udhampur district of the state. Passengers said since the train has stopped the authorities have not done much to improve the situation. The services of this train were started in July to facilitate the pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi. Congress urges govt to dismiss talks with Pak after Al Qaeda threats

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): Leader of Congress party, Manish Tewari, on Saturday (September 06), urged the ruling BJP to dismiss talks with Pakistan in wake of the recent threats from Al-Qaeda signalling the formation of a militant group in the Indian subcontinent. Key Indian Mujahideen terrorist arrested from Saharanpur

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): A key terrorist of India Mujahideen, Ejaz Sheikh, was arrested by the Special Cell of Police in Saharanpur city of Uttar Pradesh. Special Commissioner of Special Cell, SN Srivastava said on Saturday that Sheikh was a key terrorist who used to provide logistics to other IM terrorists and was an expert in technology. He added that Sheikh was involved in German Bakery Blast, Jama Masjid blast and Varanasi blast as his key operations. Srivastava also said that Sheikh used to create forged documents and mail ids which were used by terrorists in seeking admissions, renting property and buying sim card other than sending threat mails.
