This is the ninth time that Mulayam has been chosen as the SP national president. His tenure as SP chief will last for three years. Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav's presence at the meet triggered speculations of a possible tie up between the two parties for future polls. CBI says no foul play in Gopinath Munde's death

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly ruled out any foul play in the death of former Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde. The CBI was given the responsibility of probing the reasons behind the death of Munde following demands made by a number of senior BJP leaders who had suspected foul play in the accident. Munde died on June 3 this year after his car was hit by another vehicle in Delhi while he was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International Airport to take a flight to Mumbai. Reactions pour in after Pak continues heavy firing at LoC border

SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that India has failed to give an appropriate reply to Pakistan. Security Expert Alok Bansal said that if the Pakistan media reports are referred, then it will be clear that BSF forces have given befitting reply to Pakistan forces, and at present, Pakistan is not in the condition to go into war with India. One dead, six injured in fresh firing from Pakistan

Jammu and Kashmir, Oct 8 (ANI): One civilian has lost his life while six others are injured as the Pakistan rangers target civilian habitations in Jammu and Kashmir. Thousands of people living on the international border have also stated to migrate to safer place as the Pakistan rangers last night again resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and heavy firing on the BSF posts.According to BSF, over 50 BSF posts and nearly 30 border villages were affected by the fire from Pakistan side that restored at 8.30 pm last night. As the firing at some places in Arnia still continues, our forces have been retaliating and BSF troops at all the places are giving befitted reply to the fire from Pakistan.
