New Delhi/ Patna, Feb 20 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday react as Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is to face floor test in Bihar Assembly against JD (U) senior leader Nitish Kumar. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi blames BJP for the political crisis in Bihar and said that Nitish Kumar will prove majority. Party leader Ajay Alok also accused BJP for the situation in the state. RJD leader Manoj Jha also accused the BJP and said that the JD (U) will definitely come to power. Congress leader Premchand Mishra said that the party stands with Nitish Kumar and that BJP is intervening in the internal matters of Bihar. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao, meanwhile, said that Nitish Kumar is the one to create the situation that is prevailing in Bihar. Greenpeace Activist Priya Pillai refuses to give undertaking to government to fly abroad

Government says no need to panic even as swine flu toll hits 700 mark

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Even as India witnessed a steep rise in the number of swine flu cases in recent days, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth said that there was no need to panic, adding that the government was taking measures to ensure proper treatment to patients. The H1N1 virus has claimed nearly 700 lives in the country and the number of people affected by it has crossed 10,000 mark, say reports. Seth said that delay in treatment was amounting to rising casualties. Seth said that he was in touch with officials to ensure consistent supply of medicines and other medical equipments to government hospitals. He has also directed drug controllers of various states to ensure availability of necessary vaccines, along with guidelines for usage and treatment protocol. Meanwhile, 40 new medical stores have been given license to sell swine flu drugs. Besides, two new labs have been set up to the existing three, to deal with the rush. Feb 20, 2015

Govt launches eBiz portal to improve Indias rank on ease of doing business index

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): In a bid to improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index, central government launched a business portal in New Delhi. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched the single window government-to-business (G2B) portal, www.ebiz.gov.in, for 11 central government services. He said that an ideal country is the one where businessmen do not have to visit the corridors of power to get their work done. Jaitley hoped that the eBiz portal would improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index. Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, World Bank Country Director Onno Ruhl and Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha were amongst the delegates present at the event. Feb 20, 2015
