Cyclone Nilofar likely to make landfall on Saturday: MeT

Ahemdabad, Oct 29 (ANI): Meteorological department director Manorama Mohanty on Wednesday said that the cyclone Nilofar is likely to make a landfall on November 1. Opposition parties demand fresh elections in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Opposition parties on Wednesday demanded that the Centre should dissolve the legislative assembly and hold fresh assembly elections in Delhi. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that fresh elections should be held in Delhi so that people can choose their government. Congress leader Rita Bahuguna said that BJP is running away from elections because it knows that it will fail to get mandate. She added that Congress is clearly demands fresh elections in Delhi. Govt submits the list of black money account holders to SC

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): The Government of India submitted the list of all black money account holders to the Supreme Court on Wednesday as directed. Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi said that the government has submitted a list of around 627 names who have their accounts in HSBC bank. He added that all assessments have to be completed by 31st March 2015. The sealed covers will be opened by SIT which will proceed according to law after opening the seals. Oct 29, 2014

Pakistan police arrest four suspects in connection with Karachi airport attack

Karachi, Oct 29 (ANI): Pakistan Police claimed to have arrested four suspects allegedly involved in facilitating the perpetrators of a deadly attack on Pakistan's busiest Karachi Jinnah International Airport in June. Additional Inspector General of police from Crime Investigation department (CID), Saqib Ismail, said that the arrested men abetted the militants who had launched the attack. Another police official said the suspects were detained from two different areas in the eastern part of Karachi. He said that police recovered a large number of weapons from the arrested men. Three Bangladeshis lynched to death in Tripura

Tripura, Oct 29 (ANI): Three Bangladeshis, suspected cattle lifters, were lynched to death in a village of Khowai district in Tripura. The incident is the second such in the district this year. Of the three victims, one opened fire and initially managed to escape but later all three were badly beaten by the villagers. Two of them were rescued by the police and taken to hospital where they succumbed to injuries. The third one, who was rescued later, also breathed his last in the hospital. The police have also recovered two 12 bore pipe gun cartridges from the area. The intruders are residents of Habiganj district of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Border Security Force Deputy Inspector General BS Rawat said the bodies will be handed over to their counterparts in Bangladesh. Oct 29, 2014

Opposition parties slam Centre, welcome SC's decision on black money

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): The Opposition parties on Wednesday slammed the Central Government for playing politics over black money and welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict on asking the Government for the entire list of names. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the Supreme Court has given a historic decision as it had realized that the Centre is playing politics over the issue. Abhishek Manu Singhvi also questioned the government's intention of not doing it earlier. CPI leader Atul Anjan said that the SC has strictly slapped the government by asking for the list of black money holders. NCP leader Majid Memon said that it appears that BJP is trying to shield certain people.
