PM Modi greets Sri Lankan people on 67th Independence Day

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Sri Lanka, on their 67th Independence Day. Prime Minister Modi took to twitter for extending his wishes. "On their Independence Day, my greetings to people of Sri Lanka. The bonds of history, culture and shared values that we share are unbreakable, tweeted Prime Minister Modi. "My best wishes for the development of Sri Lanka in the years to come. I look forward to welcoming President Sirisena later this month," he added. President Pranab Mukherjee in his message to Sri Lankan counterpart Maithripala Sirisena said India and Sri Lanka are close neighbours with a long standing relationship of friendship and cooperation based on shared linguistic, religious and cultural traditions. He also said that these ties have matured over time to embrace all areas of contemporary significance. He expressed confidence that the traditional bonds between India and Sri Lanka will expand and flourish to the mutual benefit of the two countries in the years to come. Feb 4, 2015

Interacting with them, Modi said that the priority of his government was growth and jobs. The Prime Minister said there was raising interest in India, and "we have to accept that responsibility." The Prime Minister said he believes in a fair, predictable and consistent tax system, and in economic policies that will drive growth. Twenty one major global investors participated in the India Investor Summit earlier on Tuesday. Vadodara, Feb 04 (ANI): Artists in Gujarat painted portraits of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, depicting the array of characters played by him in his films so far. The event was organized ahead of the release of his upcoming Bollywood film 'Shamitabh'. On Friday (February 06), when the movie releases, an exhibition will be held at a mall in Vadodara city, showcasing these paintings for the movie buffs coming to watch 'Shamitabh'. Around 20 artists gathered to paint Bachchan's characters from various films. The event encouraged local talent while giving them a chance to paint the legend of Bollywood. The event organiser, Giri Sharma, said such events provide great opportunity to the artists. Artists sketched portraits of their favourite star from films like 'Anand'and 'Sarkar' with much delight.
