Visakhapatnam, Dec 12 (ANI): Residents of the Visakhapatnam planted new trees amid song and dance to create awareness about the need for plantation after hundreds of trees in the city were destroyed by cyclone Hudhud in October. Local residents and volunteers of India Youth for Society were seen dancing on the road to spread awareness about tree plantation. Children and parents also participated in the event with enthusiasm holding placards reading ‘Adopt a plant’, ‘Protect Trees’ and others. The dances attracted a large number of locals who stood watching and clicking pictures on their mobile phones. Dec 12, 2014

Tamil Nadu, Dec 12 (ANI): A three-day exhibition on contemporary work displaying a vast range of artistic practice left visitors spellbound in Tamil Nadu. The exhibition is unique as it displays more than 100 exhibits of nearly 60 talents from across the country. The organiser of the exhibition, Geetha Mehra, said that the exhibition covers a wide range of art works. The exhibition displays mesmerising work on various objects including paper, wood, bronze, plastics, broken glass and mud. The work of Valay Shinde, in particular was widely appreciated. Shinde’s work was a tribute to those people who help society function smoothly but receive no recognition. Haridwar, Dec 12 (ANI): Yoga Guru Ramdev on Friday hailed UN's decision to celebrate June 21 as International Day of Yoga and said India was always recognized for its Yoga. The United Nations declared June 21 to be celebrated as International Day of Yoga, a demand put forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the United Nations early this year. The 193-member UN General Assembly approved by consensus a resolution establishing a day to commemorate the ancient practice. Modi tweeted after the decision by the UN that "Am seeing tremendous enthusiasm among all of you after the @UN declared 21st June as 'International Day of Yoga.' It is very gladdening." Dec 12, 2014

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): German Luxury car manufacturer Audi India launched its compact luxury convertible, the A3 Cabriolet in the national capital. Priced at Rs. 44.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), A3 Cabriolet is a 4-seater two door car with a soft top fabric hood which opens and closes in less than 18 seconds, up to a speed of 50km/h. Speaking at the launch Joe King, Head of Audi India said...The new car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 242 km/h and is powered with 1.8 TFSI petrol engine with a seven-speed S tronic transmission.
