PDP hopes Modi govt will help JandK to get back on track

Ajmer, Oct 19 (ANI): People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday was hopeful that Narendra Modi government would help in bringing the flood ravaged state of Jammu and Kashmir back on track. Both Indian and Pakistani sides of the disputed Himalayan region have seen extensive flooding last month with Srinagar particularly hard hit. Hundreds of people have been killed and tens of thousands are homeless. The death toll from a cyclone that hit the east coast last week has risen to 41, as authorities struggle to restore power, transport and communication links and shelter 150,000 people forced to abandon their homes.
