BJP slams SP for raising controversy on celebrating Raja Mahendra Pratap's birthday

Hyderabad/ Lucknow, Nov 27 (ANI): The BJP on Thursday slammed the ruling SP government in Uttar Pradesh for raising a controversy over the celebration of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh's birthday. BJP President in UP, Laxmikant Bajpai said that the BJP wanted to celebrate the birthday of a great freedom fighter who donated land for the development of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He added that SP, which itself did not do so in the past, can only create controversy. BJP leader Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that he saw no reason as to why controversy should be raised over birthday celebrations of a glorious leader. Nov 27, 2014

Badaun Case: CBI reportedly says girls committed suicide

New Delhi/ Badaun, Nov 27 (ANI): After a five-month probe in the infamous Badaun case, the CBI has reportedly claimed that the two teenage sisters had allegedly committed suicide, putting to rest all speculation that the duo was gang-raped and murdered. The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, which conducted the forensic analysis, had already ruled out sexual assault on the victims. All five suspects already passed lie-detection and psychological tests done by the forensic experts. Meanwhile the Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Barkha Shukla Singh said that the CBI should revisit reports and culprits must be punished. The incident had come to light on May 28 when the bodies of two cousins - aged 14 and 15 years old - were found hanging from a tree in a village in UP's Badaun district, sparking a nation-wide outrage. Celebrations kick start as BSF to enter its 50th year in December

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): The Golden Jubilee celebrations of world's largest border guarding force, India's Border Security Force (BSF), kicked off in New Delhi as the paramilitary will enter its 50th year on December 01. BSF was established on December 01, 1965, it is a paramilitary force charged with guarding India's land border during peace time and preventing cross-border crime as it is one of many law enforcement agencies of India. BSF Director General, DK Pathak said that in the last 49 years the security force has grown to a sizeable organisation. The BSF, he further said, will organise seminars, men storming sessions and workshops to make its personnel better prepared and will strengthen its efforts to defend the border population, for it is its support which makes the organisation's work easier. Army says militants trying to disrupt polls in Kashmir

Jammu, Nov 27 (ANI): Indian army's top official said intelligence inputs suggested that militants along the Line of Control (LoC) and hinterland were trying to disrupt the ongoing election process in Kashmir. General Officer Commanding 16 Corps Lieutenant General KH Singh said that the activities are being carried on with the sole intention of disturbing the ongoing polls in the state. Singh also said that the army is fully equipped and prepared to deal with any such activities along the international border. The assembly segments going to polls include Kishtwar, Inderwal, Doda, Bhaderwah, Ramban and Banihal in Jammu division; Gurez, Bandipora, Sonawari, Kangan and Ganderbal in Kashmir region and Nobra, Leh, Kargil and Zanskar in Ladakh region. PM will bolster ties and move ahead with south Asian nations: MEA

Kathmandu, Nov 27 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that India would enhance its bond with South Asian nations and move together with its neighbours in a bid to boost trade while integrating energy grids and easy access via road and railway links. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that India will move with those who are ready.
