Security beefed up in Ayodhya on Babri Mosque demolition anniversary

Ayodhya, Dec 06 (ANI): Security has been beefed up in Ayodhya on the 22nd anniversary of demolition of Babri mosque by Hindu volunteers. About 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the city along with imposition of prohibitory orders. Anti-riot personnel are maintaining strict vigil in Ayodhya and Faizabad. Moreover, two dozen CCTV cameras have also been installed across city. Hindus regard Ayodhya as the birth place of Lord Rama. On December 6, 1992, a mob of Hindu religious volunteers demolished the Babri mosque allegedly been built by the Mughal ruler Babar in the sixteenth century at a place where Lord Ram temple existed. Former MP thrashed by lawyers, Police says case filed against accused

Lucknow, Dec 06 (ANI): Former Rajya Sabha MP Banwari Lal Kanchhal was beaten black and blue by a group of lawyers on the sessions court premises. The incident happened on Friday afternoon when Kanchhal, a prominent traders' leader came to the court for hearing in a case involving alleged encroachment by lawyers in Aminabad. The lawyers tore off 68-year-old Kanchhal's clothes in full public view and left him scurrying for cover. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis pays tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary

Mumbai, Dec 06 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with his cabinet ministers paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Babasahib Dr BR Ambedkar at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Fadnavis offered flowers and lit candles in front of Ambedkar's statue on his 'Mahaparinirvana Diwas'. PM Modi pays tribute to BR Ambedkar on 'Mahaparinirwan Diwas'

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Dr.BR Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvana Diwas. PM Modi paid floral tributes to Ambedkar outside the Parliament where a event is organized in respect and memory of the architect of the Indian Constitution. President Pranab Mukherjee along with Vice President Hamid Ansari also offered flowers to the statue of Ambedkar. Present at the occasion was also senior BJP leader LK Advani, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh among others. Earlier, PM Modi tweeted saying, "On his Mahaparinirvana Diwas, I bow to the venerable Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. His contribution to the Nation is eternal and invaluable. India terms Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan as mainstreaming of terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): India termed Mumbai attacks mastermind and Islamist Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan's Lahore as mainstreaming of militancy.' Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that large amount of police personnel were deployed at the event. Akbaruddin said "even train services were given" in a reference to reports that Pakistan Railways operated trains from Hyderabad in the Sindh province and from Karachi for the meet. Thousands attended the two-day congregation organised by Saeed's Jaamat-ud-Dawa at the historical Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. Saeed is the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a militant group banned in Pakistan but tolerated unofficially and believed to be close to the army. Saeed founded the LeT, which India blames for the rampage in Mumbai, in the 1990s. He has denied involvement in any attacks. Dec 6, 2014

Search for missing Indians in war torn Iraq still on, will leave no stones unturned: Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said that search for missing Indian workers in war-torn Iraq was still on, and also assured families of victims that India will leave no stone unturned to find their loved ones. Swaraj had told parliament on November 28 that 39 abducted construction workers in Iraq were alive, on the basis of information from six of the sources, thus contradicting eyewitness' account which said that they were shot dead. Last month at the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Nepal, Hasina called for deeper cooperation from member nations to achieve her target of a developed nation by 2041. Meanwhile, Bangladesh PM also said that if her party would have not come to power then conducting war crimes trials was not possible. The war crimes tribunals have angered Islamists who call them a politically motivated attempt by Prime Minister Hasina to persecute the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami, a key part of the opposition coalition.
