Police rescue bonded labourers from brick kiln in Mirzapur

Gaya, Dec 05 (ANI): Nearly 149 bonded labourers, including women and children, rescued from a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh, were brought to their home district in Bihar. Police rescued them from a brick kiln in Mirzapur district and were brought to Gaya district by the Bihar government. They would be sent to their native villages. The government assured that action would be taken against those involved in the crime. More than 12 million children below the age of 14 are working as domestic servants or other jobs such as in stone quarries, embroidery units, mining, carpet-weaving, tea stalls, restaurants and hotels, according to the government data. Police launch mobile application for emergencies in Vadodara

Vadodara, Dec 5 (ANI): Police in Vadodara on Thursday launched a mobile application for citizens to connect with them during emergencies. Through this application, which will be available on android and iphones, citizens can inform about their emergency situation to police with touch of a button. JP Nadda seeks report over blinding of 16 people in Punjab eye camp

New Delhi/Amritsar, Dec 5 (ANI): Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday sought report from Punjab government over the blinding of 16 people in an eye camp. As many as 16 patients lost their eyesight after a doctor used suspected infected equipment at a free eye surgery camp, organised by a NGO in Gurdaspur district. Nadda assured Punjab government to render any help from the central government. Reacting over the incident, state Medical Education Minister Anil Joshi said that organisers had no permission to conduct an eye camp. New Delhi, Dec 5 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Friday after at least 14 people lost their vision after cataract surgery at an eye camp organized in by an NGO in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. BJP leader Shrikant Sharma said the incident is very unfortunate and the culprits should be given punishment. Experts say militants attacking to disrupt polls in Kashmir

New Delhi/Bhopal, Dec 5 (ANI): Security and Defence experts, on Friday (December 05), said militants were carrying out frequent attacks in Jammu and Kashmir to disrupt assembly polls in the region. Five members of the security forces were killed in a suicide attack on an army artillery camp in Kashmir early on Friday as militants stepped up violence in the disputed region near the border with Pakistan, officials said. Qamar Agha said Pakistan was desperate to promote Islamic militancy in the state.
