Poultry industry of Tamil Nadu severely affected by outbreak of Bird Flu

Coimbatore, Dec 6 (ANI): The outbreak of bird flu in neighbouring Kerala caused a setback to the poultry industry of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of dead ducks infected by a highly contagious bird flu virus were found in Kerala, prompting the authorities to cull more than 200,000 birds. Kerala had banned the movement of the chickens from Tamil Nadu due to bird flu threat. President of Broiler Chicken Traders Association of Coimbatore, Kandaswamy said that their chicken stock has accumulated. New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Political leaders on Saturday came out with differentiating reactions as PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti claimed that media hype on Jammu and Kashmir voter turnout is the probable cause of increased terror attacks in the state. BJP leaders GVL Narasimha Rao and Subramanian Swamy called the statement insane. Swamy said that PDP chief should now tell the Pakistanis to contain their jealousies. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that a leader should refrain from such statements and take the same back. At least 29 children hospitalised in Chhattisgarh after consuming mid-day meal

Korba, Dec 06 (ANI): At least 29 children were hospitalized in Chhattisgarh after they fell ill on consuming mid-day meals at school. The students reported dizziness and vomiting after consuming mid day meal at school in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. District Magistrate Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that condition of all the students is stable. She added that the matter will be investigated by the SDM. Meanwhile students said that the food smelled of alcohol. Reports of students falling ill due to consumption of mid day meals provided at government schools are becoming normal especially in states of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Dec 6, 2014
