Mumbai, Jan 02 (ANI): Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday while speaking on the Mumbai train services disruption said that corrective measures have been taken and normalcy is being restored in the region. He added that he had called a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ministers and the concerned officers of the state to discuss the matter. Services of local trains in Mumbai were affected after an overhead cable wire fell down on the tracks. US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard meets Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Jan 02 (ANI): US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on Friday met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi to boost economic ties. Gabbard is the sole Hindu member of the US Congress. On her maiden visit to India, which commenced on December 15, Gabbard met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. She also met chairman of National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) and interacted with several entrepreneurs and IT pioneers in Bengaluru. Her tour ends on Saturday. Train services on Mumbai Central Line hit

Mumbai, Jan 02 (ANI): Services of local trains in Mumbai were affected on Friday after an overhead cable wire fell down on the tracks. According to reports, the incident happened on the local central line. A local train broke down at the Thakurli station, near Kalyan, in Thane district. There were also reports of stone pelting and torching of vehicles by disgruntled commuters in and around the Diva Station. Police had to resort to a mild baton charge to discharge agitating crowds that had gathered in the station's vicinity to protest over the delay in the plying of trains. Two injured in crude bomb blast in Burdwan

Durgapur, Jan 02 (ANI): At least two people were injured in a crude bomb blast in the Durgapur area of the Burdwan district in West Bengal. According to the media reports, the explosion took place when some individuals were trying to assemble crude bombs. The injured have been shifted to a local hospital for treatment. Hosiery factory in Ludhiana catches massive fire, no casualties reported

Ludhiana, Jan 02 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a hosiery factory in Ludhiana city causing heavy losses, but no casualty was reported. Fifteen fire tenders were rushed to douse the fire which gutted the factory. The fire quickly spread through the five-storey building. Fire officials said no worker was inside the factory when fire broke out. Raj Kumar, a fireman, said it took around five hours to douse the fire.
