Moradabad, Jan 09 (ANI): An artist from Moradabad paid tribute to the victims of suspected Islamist militant attack on a Paris-based weekly satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, with his painting. Calling the attack barbaric and inhuman, an artist, Narendra Singh, expressed solidarity with the victims who included the weekly’s editor and some of its celebrated cartoonists. Hooded attackers on Wednesday stormed the Paris office of Charlie Hebdo, a weekly known for lampooning Islam and other religions, in the most deadly militant attack on French soil in decades. Sri Lanka elects Maithripala Sirisena as new president

Chennai, Jan 09 (ANI): Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena has been declared as the new President of Sri Lanka. The soft spoken 63-year-old has vowed to root out corruption and bring constitutional reforms. Sirisena, who will later in the day take oath as the seventh President of Sri Lanka, beat the incumbent Mahinda Rajapaksa after securing 51.28 percent of the votes cast. Meanwhile, President Pranab Mukherjee congratulated Sri Lanka President-elect Maithiripala Sirisena on his poll victory. Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that the election process is an internal matter of Sri Lanka and hoped that both Sri Lanka and India share good relations. Helicopters over town where Paris attack suspects last seen

France, Jan 08 (ANI): Helicopters were seen flying over the northeastern French town of Dammartin-en-Goele on Friday (January 9) as at least one hostage was seized during the police search for two brothers suspected of carrying out the attack on satirical publication Charlie Hebdo, according to police sources. There was heavy security in the town, and five helicopters were seen flying overhead on Friday morning. The French Interior Minister confirmed an operation was taking place there. New Delhi, Jan 9 (ANI): A new study has suggested that separation from iPhone can have serious psychological and physiological effects on their users.Study suggested that iPhone users should avoid parting with their phones during daily situations that involve a great deal of attention, such as taking tests, sitting in conferences or meetings, or completing important work assignments, as it could result in poorer cognitive performance on those tasks. The researchers found a significant increase in anxiety, heart rate and blood pressure levels, and a significant decrease in puzzle performance when the participants were separated from their iPhones as compared to when iPhone users completed similar word search puzzles while in possession of their iPhones.
