Gandhinagar, Jan 11 (ANI): United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on Sunday addressed the Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015 which is taking place in Gandhinagar. Ban Ki-Moon said that he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram and said that he hoped Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals will keep inspiring the lives of all people in the world. Gandhinagar, Jan 11 (ANI): Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay while speaking at Vibrant Gujarat Summit, invited investment for the nation and said that Bhutan is open for investment and business from all countries unless it is eco friendly and not harmful to resources. Tobgay said that he had always wanted to visit Varanasi and Bodhgaya for a pilgrimage and have come to Gujarat as part of his ‘Aarthik Yatra’. Social activists react after 30-year old gang raped, murdered in South Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Social activists reacted on Sunday after the body of a 30-year-old woman was recovered from a DDA nursery in Vasant Kunj area with the police suspecting that she was killed after being gang raped. NCW former chairperson Mamta Sharma said that police is inactive everywhere which is leading to increase in crime against women. New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Political leaders reacted on Sunday as Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015 is being held in Gandhinagar. Minister of State in Parliamentary Affairs Mukkhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Narendra Modi's government has promoted Make in India concept through Vibrant Gujarat summit to enhance trade and business in the country. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that any other state can also conduct its own summit to promote business. Meanwhile, Congress leader PC Chacko said that PM Modi always turns to Gujarat as if it is the country’s capital. Woman attacked with acid in Delhi, Social activists condemn

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Social activists on Sunday strongly condemned the acid attack on a 30-year-old woman that took place in North West Delhi's Keshav Puram area. According to the reports, the woman suffered severe burns when two bike-borne men threw acid on her. One of the accused arrested by the police has been indentified as the woman's landlord. NCW former chairperson Mamta Sharma said that there is a need for better implementation of laws relating to women. Social Activist Jagmati Sangwan and Annie Raja also expressed similar sentiments. BSP leader defends Paris terror attack, IPS Officer announces cash reward to team which arrests him

Lucknow, Jan 11 (ANI): BSP leader Haji Yakub Qureshi has justified Paris terror attacks saying that whoever shows disrespect to the Prophet will invite death. After this, UP police has announced cash reward to the team which arrests Qureshi as his remark was against humanity. IPS Officer Amitabh Thakur said that he will be giving personal cash reward of Rs 20,000 to the police team which arrests Qureshi as his statements were against humanity. Complaint lodged against teacher after she strip-searched students on suspicion of theft in Gurdaspu

Gurdaspur/New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): A female teacher in a government school in Gurdaspur district of Punjab has been booked for strip-searching seven girls after she suspected them of stealing 500 rupees from her wallet. When the accused teacher could not find the money after frisking the girls, she asked them to pay a fine of rupees 50 each in order to recover her loss. The incident came to light when the students narrated their ordeal to their parents, who then complained about the incident to the police. Recalling the unfortunate incident, one of the victims, Kajal, said that they were strip-searched thrice by the teacher. The parents of the students were surprised by the behaviour of the accused teacher when they confronted her. They accused her of threatening them. Jan 11, 2015

Kerry met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on stage when the summit was going on. He also greeted Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and shared the dais with other eminent personalities and business leaders present there. The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will be the keynote speaker on the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015 is focused at forging knowledge-based strategic partnerships.
