Guwahati, Feb 15 (ANI): Police in Guwahati city detained hundreds of activists on Sunday protesting against students from outside writing exams for recruitment in government jobs. The protest was organised by a powerful students organization, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU). Police in large numbers stopped the protesters from preventing students from appearing in exams held for the recruitment in railway police. The AASU has for long been demanding justice for the people of Assam and northeast besides demanding quota for jobs. There have been media reports that not even a single person from the northeast was recruited during the drive for filling up posts of 1,000 sub-inspectors and 17,000 constables in earlier exams. New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has reportedly declared former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf "ineligible" for Parliament membership, saying that he did not fulfill the criteria set in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. A three-judge bench of the SHC, headed by Chief Justice Maqbool Baqir, asserted that the military ruler misused his powers and abrogated the Constitution and the decisions taken by him have hurt Pakistan's image. The detail verdict has been released by the court. Following a four-year-long self-imposed exile, Musharraf came back to Pakistan in March 2013 to contest the May 11 general election.
