BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi to file nomination today

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi is holding a roadshow ahead of filing her nomination papers for the Delhi assembly election. Earlier in the day, she paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai and also cleaned his statue in Krishna Nagar constituency. She also met tea and newspaper sellers in Krishna Nagar and enquired about the kind of issues they were facing. Bedi is scheduled to file her nomination from Krishna Nagar today. The scrutiny of nominations will take place tomorrow, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 24. Polling will take place on February 7 and the counting of votes will be taken up on February 10. Apart from Bedi, several senior leaders will be filing their nomination papers today, including Aam Aadmi Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Congress campaign chief Ajay Maken. Jan 21, 2015

Have complaint to EC over Kejriwal's repeated 'bribe remarks': KC Mittal

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Congress party filed yet another complaint with the Election Commission against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal for repeated use of 'bribe remarks'. Congress Legal Department Secretary KC Mittal said that despite being issued notice by the EC, Kejriwal repeated the controversial remarks about taking bribes. Mittal said that norms and rules should be taken care of by all the political parties and leaders. He said that the EC has power to derecognize the party if it so desires and if Kejriwal does not stop making such remarks. Kejriwal said that he is happy about the response he got from people during his road show yesterday and further appealed them to pray for AAP victory during Delhi polls. Mukhi expressed confidence over his party winning 60 seats in Delhi polls and said that people will surely vote for BJP. He also thanked people for his and party's success. AAP explains ticket cancellation of its two candidates

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Wednesday explained the party's decision to cancel the ticket of two of its candidates prior to polls in Delhi. Sisodia said that the party had unanimously taken the decision of cancelling tickets of its candidates from Mehrauli and Mundka after some hidden information was revealed. New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): AAP has cancelled the ticket of its candidate from Mehrauli, Goverdhan Singh, ahead of polls in Delhi. Singh, on Wednesday, alleged that the party had earlier forced him to contest elections from that seat and now cancelled the ticket to insult his community people. Singh also said that there is prominent corruption in party and tickets are being sold openly for a huge amount of money in the party. UP seeks paramilitary forces for Obama's Taj visit

Lucknow/ Agra, Jan 21 (ANI): The northern state of Uttar Pradesh is taking measures to step up vigil ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to the Taj Mahal later this month. The state has asked for 10 companies of paramilitary forces from the Central government in view of the multi-tier security set up for the high profile visit. The city of Agra is set to become a fortress ahead of Obama's visit on January 27. The Taj Mahal will be closed to visitors on that day.
