Japan provides human resource training in nuclear power generation

Hanoi/ Japan, Jan 20 (ANI): In order to meet the rapid growth in electricity demand driven by a growing economy and expanding industrial base, Vietnam has decided to introduce nuclear energy. A developing country with a population of 92.5 million, Vietnam has selected Japan as its partner. The government issued a master plan specifying the project of building nuclear power plants, as the first time in Vietnam and South East Asia. Electric Power University (EPU) in Hanoi, is one of the six universities in Vietnam that are authorized to provide human resource training in nuclear power generation. The University has opened the Department of Nuclear Power in 2010 where students are learning basic knowledge required for nuclear power generation. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the first partners which effectively cooperates and supports Electric Power University and provide nuclear engineering lecture. Recently, "Cool Japan lounge" exhibition was held at AEON Mall Binh Duon Canary in Vietnam by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as a part of "Cool Japan World Trial" initiatives. AAP- BJP will surely merge in future: Ajay Maken before filing nomination papers

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Before filing his nomination papers from Sadar Bazar constituency, Congress leader Ajay Maken said that AAP and BJP will surely merge in future. Rijiju asks Pakistan to follow US, UK advice over handover of Lakhvi

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has asked Pakistan to handover 2008 Mumbai attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi to New Delhi, as has also been advised by the United States of America and the United Kingdom to do so. A section of media had reported earlier that the US and the UK have asked Pakistan to either hand over Lakhvi to India to improve bilateral ties or to conduct a credible and independent trial. Rijiju said Pakistan needs to exhibit its intention to fight militancy after Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had vowed to crush all militants after the killing of 132 school children and nine members of school staff in Peshawar. Three storey building collapses in New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): A three-storied building collapsed in Gautampuri locality in New Delhi in wee hours of Wednesday (January 21). However, no casualties have been reported so far. Deputy Commandant of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Asim Ul Haque, said that cracks had started showing in the building due to construction of another building behind it. He also said that clearing operations on the ground floor was underway and no casualties were expected from there as well. Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Lax and poorly enforced construction standards amid booming demand for housing have resulted in frequent and deadly collapses across the country. Jan 21, 2015

Politicos react as Manmohan Singh questioned by CBI in coal block scam case

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Wednesday said that there is no need to politicize former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's examination by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over his role in the coal block allocation case relating to Hindalco, as it is purely a legal process. Earlier today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that the CBI was under pressure for not investigating former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his role in the coal block allocation during UPA tenure. The CBI has reportedly examined and questioned the former Prime Minister on his role in the coal block allocation case relating to Hindalco. The CBI is yet to give an official confirmation in this regard, even as Dr Singh's office has denied receiving any such summons.
