Need evidence to take action against black money account holders, centre taking rigorous steps: Jait

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said that there is a need for evidence and that only revelation of names of the black money account holders is not enough to initiate legal action. The Centre has initiated tax-evasion proceedings against 60 Indian accounts that have allegedly parked black money in foreign accounts, Jaitley said. Jaitley further said the Centre has put in rigorous efforts towards digging black money during the last six to seven months. He said that most of the names revealed in the list today are known to the government. He said that the assessments of 350 account holders have been done and the rest will be completed by March 31. JD (U) expels Jitan Ram Manjhi from party

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Amid deepening political crisis in Bihar, JD (U) expelled Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi from the party. Manjhi, who has refused to resign as Bihar Chief Minister to make way for Nitish Kumar, has been expelled by his the party. According to sources, Manjhi, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and reportedly discussed the Bihar situation, was accused of anti-party activities. "I am the Chief Minister and I will be here till the legislature party decides otherwise," Manjhi had said on Sunday. Manjhi had also promised to step down if he failed to prove his majority. Pak violates ceasefire in R S Pura sector in J-K

Rs Pura Sector, Feb 09 (ANI): In yet another case of ceasefire violation, the Pakistani forces opened fire at ten border outposts in Jammu's RS Pura Sector on late Sunday night. In response to the unprovoked firing from Pakistan at 11:30 pm last night, the BSF troops retaliated to the firing. The latest ceasefire violation took place days after Pakistani forces on Thursday opened fire at a BSF outpost along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. Further details are awaited. Re-polling in two constituencies of Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): A day before Delhi assembly election results, residents in two constituencies of the national capital had to vote again on Monday due to fault in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). As per media reports, voters in Delhi Cantonment and Rohtas Nagar constituencies were notified about re-polling on Sunday, after election officials found that EVMs still contained the mock votes, which were polled to check the machines.
