PM Modi has lunch at Parliament canteen, pays Rs 29 for veg thali

New Delhi, March 02 (ANI): In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday had lunch at the Parliament canteen. Reportedly, PM Modi made a surprise visit to Room number 70 on the first floor of the Parliament building, from where the canteen operates. The canteen staff was surprised by Modi’s sudden arrival but soon regained composure and guided him to a table and took his order. According to media reports, PM ordered a Veg Thali which consisted of sarson ka saag, aloo subji, rajma, rice, roti and curd and paid Rs 29 for his lunch. After having the lunch, PM Modi wrote in the canteen's visitor book "ann data Sukhi Bhava". Modi was in company of three MPs at the table. Mar 2, 2015

Indian youth enters Guinness records for speedcubing

Chennai, March 02 (ANI): Taking speedcubing to a new level, an Indian youth entered the Guinness Book of world records by solving five Rubik’s cubes single-handedly in just over a minute. Solving five Rubik’s cube in 1.23.934 minutes, Bhargav Narasimhan of Chennai city, broke the existing record of 1.52 minutes held by Tumu Tabuchi of Japan. Since its inception in 1980s Rubik Cube has intrigued children and elders alike. The fascination with the red-blue-green-yellow-white-orange angular plastic cube is such that there is a global community of speedcubers today. Bharghav says he was happy he did it for the nation. People revel in Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh

Mathura/ Varanasi, Mar 02 (ANI): Daubed in colours, people celebrated festival of colours, 'Holi', with pageantry in Uttar Pradesh. People threw powered colours and sprayed coloured water on each other while celebrating 'Lathmar Holi' in Uttar Pradesh. As per traditions, women beat men with sticks while celebrating the festival. Devotees thronged Mathura city, birthplace of Hindu Lord Krishna, to revel in celebrations. Lord Krishna is believed to have come to the earth to destroy an evil king called Kansa, who was his maternal uncle, and ruled some parts of northern India. Holi will be celebrated on March 06 however people of Mathura city mark the festival for eight days. In a special programme, performers were dressed as Lord Krishna and consort Radha. Meanwhile, spirits were high in holy city of Varanasi too as devotees celebrated Holi with colours, sweets and bhang (cannabis).
