Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi is set to introduce new Redmi 2 colour variant in India next week.
Redmi 2 has been on sale in India for close to two months for ₹6,999, but it was only available in white colour. Currently, Xiaomi, in collaboration with Snapdeal, will host Redmi 2 Dark Grey flash sale on 25 May at 12pm.
This flash sale is a one-day special offer on Snapdeal. As part of the promotional campaign, the company is offering Redmi 2 protective cover case for just ₹99. It is mandatory for prospective buyers to get registered on Snapdeal (HERE) to become eligible to make the purchase.
Though this brings cheer for some fans who craved for the dark hued model, there are others still waiting for the upgraded Redmi 2 model with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory, which the company had promised during the launch in March, to bring it to India later in the year.
People who are not interested in going through cumbersome registration, can still buy white model directly on Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon for the same price of ₹6,999.
For the uninitiated, Redmi 2 sports 4.7-inch HD IPS screen and runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat (with MIUI v6.0) powered by the 64-bit class 1.2GHz snapdragon 410 SoC (System on Chip) with 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and a 2,200mAh battery.
