Czech automaker Skoda will reportedly introduce its Yeti facelift, which was initially showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, in India during this festive season.

A report by Indian Autos Blog, citing sources close to the development, claims the refreshed version of Yeti will make its entry into the market around September or October this year.

The vehicle, which is on sale in a few international markets, is offered in two variants - Outdoor and Style. As per the report, India is likely to get the Outdoor variant of the facelift.

The car is expected to have cosmetic upgrades and is rumoured to feature new headlamps, butterfly grille and revamped tail lights. The car will also sport the new logo of Skoda and will come with bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

Under the hood, the Yeti facelift will come with the same 2.0 litre diesel engine, which features in the current Skoda Yeti, and is likely to continue having two states of tune - 110 PS at 4,200 rpm and 140 PS at 4,200 rpm.

The 110 PS variant is tuned to make 250 Nm of torque and is likely to get a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 140 PS variant pumps in 320 Nm of torque and is expected to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox .T

There are also rumours that the new Yeti facelift could feature DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox). Previous reports suggested that the upcoming Yeti facelift will carry a price tag similar to the current model. In India, Skoda Yeti is currently priced in the range of ₹15.19 lakh to ₹18.91 lakh.

Skoda is also making a new flagship seven-seater SUV for India. The new SUV is expected to be around 4.6 meters in length, and is likely to be pegged against Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe.

A new edition of Skoda Rapid is also in the pipeline for India. The new avatar of Rapid had been spied testing in the country and, if reports ring true, auto lovers will see the car on roads in the next six months.

On the mechanical front, Rapid new edition is likely to be powered by a 104bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine and the company may also offer DSG automatic gearbox and paddle shifters in the car.
