Singapore Slammers became the champions of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) 2015 after beating the Indian Aces quite comprehensively in the final at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Sunday in front of a capacity crowd.

Each and every player from the Slammers rose to the occasion, delivering when it mattered the most.

Slammers never let the Aces to get ahead in the finals. At the end, Slammers won the finals by 26-21.

Ivan Dodig from the Indian Aces and Belinda Bencic from the Singapore Slammers were awarded the most valuable players of the IPTL 2015 in the men's and women's categories, respectively.

Carlos Moya took on Fabrice Santoro in the Legend's singles game. Moya was relentless against Santoro yet again. He made Santoro work a lot down the lines and eventually got the better of him by winning the game 6-4. Moya gave the Slammers an early lead, which proved to be crucial.

In the women's singles, 18-year-old Bencic took on Svetlana Kuznetsova, and guess what? The young woman did stun the former Tennis superstar by winning the game 6-5. Kuznetsova looked out of touch right from the start. Bencic smashed a number of winners past Kuznetsova.

Indian Aces were sublime in the Mixed Doubles event. However, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna's heroics could not save the day for the Aces. Mirza and Bopanna thrashed Dustin Brown and Carolina Pliskova 6-2 to give the Aces some hope.

World no 4 Wawrinka turned up in style yet again to beat Bernard Tomic in the finals of the IPTL 2015 on Sunday. Tomic was up 2-0 at one point, but could not hold on to that lead for long. Wawrinka, who has been in very good form, came back from behind to win the game 6-3.

In the Men's Doubles event, too, Wawrinka and his partner Marcelo Melo were too good to handle. Bopanna and Dodig could not make any impact as Slammers beat them 6-3 and clinched the IPTL 2015 title.

Last year, Singapore Slammers finished at the bottom of the points table, and this year they overcame all ods to become the champions of the IPTL 2015.
