Suriya is getting ready for a busy year ahead as he has now given nod to two films in succession. If the latest reports are to be believed, the actor started working on the films in 2016 itself.

Pa Ranjith, who is directing Rajinikanth in "Kabali," will be teaming up with Suriya for the first time. The director himself has revealed in an interview recently that the movie will take off once the actor wraps up his upcoming movie "S3," which is also known as "Singam 3."

The other project that Suriya has given nod to will be directed by Muthiah of "Komban" and "Kutti Puli" fame. It is said to be a rural entertainer in which the actor is expected to appear in dhoti-clad avatars.

KE Gnanavelraja of Studio Green is reportedly producing the movie, which is likely to be titled as "Thanthai Sol Mikka Mandhiram Illai." However, it is not clear whether this project will commence before or after Pa Ranjith's flick.

Suriya is currently busy with "S3." The shooting is happening at a brisk pace and the makers have plans to release the film for Diwali. It is the third instalment in the "Singam" franchise and Hari has written and directed the flick. Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan play female leads.

Meanwhile, Suriya's fan following on Twitter has crossed the 1-million mark recently. The actor had joined the social networking site in mid 2015. He has used the platform to promote his movies and to spread social-awareness messages.
