The recently released life simulation video game, The Sims 4 was reportedly censoring characters that have gay names so that it does not appear on public online gallery.
This censoring was pointed out by some players where names that had descriptions like "gay," "lesbian," "homosexual" or "queer" were denied from the public online gallery. It said that these words are forbidden from being used. This issue was pointed out by a YouTuber, Anna Eichenauer in her channel, WhyStuffIsGreat.
Kotaku reported about the problem and Electronic Arts (EA) replied to it saying it was aware of the issue and was working on fixing the gay filter. It also said that heterosexual names did not face any blockages.
"The Sims has a long history of supporting stories that players want to tell, irrespective of gender preference," EA spokesperson told Kotaku. "The Gallery uses an automated filtering program that filters out certain words, including some of the ones you mentioned below. We are aware of have been working on a fix, which will be out soon."
EA has always been at the forefront of the LGBT rights, and Sims has a legacy of allowing players to create gay characters since 1990.

No Sims 5 if Sims 4 Fails
The possibility of fans and players seeing a Sims 5 depends upon the success of Sims 4, and if it fails, there might not be a Sims 5, EA said on official Sims forum.
"We're not working on Sims 5," Rodiek said. "We're not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5," said Grant Rodiek, producer at Maxis. "It's not all or nothing, per se, but something has to pay for 5," he added.
