Simmtronics Launches XPAD X1010 Android Tablet at 8,449Facebook

Indian electronics manufacturer Simmtronics has expanded its range of budget tablets in the domestic market with the launch of the XPAD X1010 Android tablet.

The XPAD X1010 tablet sports a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system. The tablet will join the lot of XPAD X801 and XPAD X720. At ₹8,449, the device is said to be the cheapest 10-inch tablet currently available in the country.

The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 processor and packs a Lithium polymer battery of 5600 mAh which is expected to deliver 150 hours of back up and six hours of internet browsing time. The tablet also support video formats like AVI (H.264, DIVX, XVID), RM, RMVB, MKV, WMV, MOV, MP4 (H.264, MPEG, DIVX, XVID), MPEG, MPG, FLV and audio formats like, MP3, WMA, MP2, OGG, AAC, M4A, MA4, FLAC, 3GP and WAV.

The tablet packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card slot. The company said it has entered into special deals with several public Wi-Fi hotspot providers like McDonald, Subway, Café Coffee Day, Manchester United, Nirulas and Cocoberry to give new tablet consumers free access to WI-FI.
